Like a home, a deck is only as strong as its foundation. When building the deck frame, we:
- Use treated CCA lumber with a hazard grade rating of at least 3
- Seal all end cuts
- Use galvanized or non-abrasive nails and fasteners
- Consider and address water and drainage issues
- Fit all pole tops with gang-nail tops
- Follow all weight distribution specifications
For the decking itself, we use only high grade, top-notch hardwood, seal all lumber end cuts, treat both sides of the deck, use non-abrasive decking screws, and use appropriate hardware and construction techniques to prevent splits in the lumber.
